First, it’s time to hit the books!

Nobody can expect to enter such a communication-centered field without being at the receiving end first! Unless you’re a true pioneer of your field, there are probably a few relevant blogs and websites that you can hit up to see a few fresh examples. Read up on the tips that professional bloggers have to offer (watch for free internet marketing ebook offers, especially!) and compare the difference between the successes and flops in your niche.

The next task is to get started – jump right in!

If you’re really unsure about your skills, create a hobby blog unrelated to your desired goal. That way, you can test the waters without potentially marring your brand. During the course of research, some really useful information may be forgotten before it can even be memorized – avoid this by rushing to your “test blog” and implementing what you have learned right away. Make sure not to get lazy: it may just be a starter blog, but you want real feedback from real readers, so give them something worthwhile to look at! You may not make money blogging right away but everybody has to start somewhere!

The major point to keep in mind is that there are no foolproof guidelines to follow that can magically allow just anyone to make money blogging. It takes experience and dedication – the learning process is only half the battle! Get started off on the right foot by having realistic expectations: you have a lot of reading to do!

1. Share your best information freely —  There is really no reason to hold back your best ideas or save things for a “rainy day”.  You want your readers to realize what you know and how ready and willing you are to help them solve their problems.  When you share your “best stuff” with your readers, you allow them to gain trust in you and your motives.  This will pay off very well in the future when you recommend products and services for them to take a look at.

2.  Connect with your readers on a personal level —  It is very hard to make a good living from blogging as a nameless, faceless person.  People are looking to get to know you a little bit.  People are always going to try to buy from people they know, like and trust.  This is a very real thing online.  You want to let your readers know you are there to help them.  The more you connect with them on a personal level, the better off you will be. Once I was able to master this basic concept I was well on my way to learning how to make money blogging.

3.  Share your personal experiences —  People love stories.   They also love to read about people that have overcome odds and “made it” online.  Most people do not believe they can run an online business that will make them any money.  Most people are skeptical about how an online eBook or home study course can help them with a problem or affliction.  When you share personal experiences with your readers, it really allows them to look at you as a person.  This is very important as you are trying to build a reader base of people that will come back to your blog over and over again.
4.  Allow your readers to contact you —  You want your readers to reach out to you.  If you are not willing to connect with them and build relationships, you may be starting the wrong kind of business.  When you answer people questions and help them with their specific problems, you start to develop “fans for life”.  These are the people that will help you keep your blog alive and vital and will also be some of your best customers.

5.  Take the time to answer your reader’s questions — Your readers will really appreciate you taking the time to answer their questions and give them some of your time.  This can come from your posts or by emails or Skype chats.  It is your choice how you communicate with your readers.  The key is to have open lines of communications open with your subscribers.  When you get feedback from your readers, it gives you a great insight on how you can help them.  It also gives you some super ideas on topics you can cover on your blog in the future.

Once you have a group of “raving fans” that frequent your blog, you have the beginnings of a business that can and will allow you to make money blogging.  It is well worth your time and effort to build and cement these key relationships with your readers.

Firstly, you need to find a niche. I am of the view that almost every niche can be made to be profitable in someway. So don’t worry too much about if it will make money just yet. The niche just needs to have people that will be readers for your blog. Obviously some subjects will have more interest in others so try and do a bit of research into your niche to find out the market size.

Next, just get the blog going. Get a site from a platform such as wordpress and get the blog going. Write some interesting posts and then try and get traffic to your blog. This can be done by promoting your blog on other similar blogs, exchanging links with these blogs is also a good idea too. Try and get your blog link in as many places online as possible and traffic will start to come.

Then once you have the traffic you can start thinking about monetizing the blog. Some blogs like to keep it simple and just have advertising on the page and you then get paid everytime a user clicks the advert. Whilst some bloggers like to go for more lucrative amounts by selling products and make money off the commission. You could even go as far as selling your own products if you really liked.

That is just a basic breakdown of how to make money blogging. This is the outline of how to do it, there are still many things to learn about it but the great thing is that there is a lot of free information online to help you along the way.
